Thats a great rig Joe, good luck with it. Do they come with some kind of "anchor/running" lighting? The reason I ask is we almost hit a guy off of SeaSide at gray light striper fishing last year. We were a mile off the beach and the guy was dressed in camo with a dark brown kayak.
I think the whole kayak thing is very cool they make me a little nervous with no marking lights at low light

I hate to be a buzz killer but that orange flag does ZERO at low light. I would not venture out in OCC,DC the inlet or off the beach.The reason I'm saying this is I almost hit the guy off of Seaside. He would have been dead for sure. It bothered me for a few days. I think lighting needs to be mandatory on these new vessels

I agree 100% Mike. The flag I got is reflective but I don't go out in lowlight conditions. Nor do I even fish the channels or high traffic waterways. I am considering getting some sort of light pole too.

are the kayaks subject to the same as a ski...not allowed on the water after dark? (So I've heard)

I don't believe so. If they have the right lights, flags, etc. I think they are OK. I carry a whistle around me neck as well.

They are allowed after dark assuming they have proper lighting and carry the necessary/required equipment.
