Description
These people are French Canadians...not sure how they managed to beach themselves. I know they've been on the beach since Friday and most likely heavy machinery was able to move them off the beach on Sunday.

These pictures were taken from boat in LEI on Saturday. The boat is on the North side of the inlet...or, southern most point of LBI.

The boat was pulled off and is now at H.H. marina in Waretown. The boat had minimal damage and only needs to have the broken rudder replaced. They will be back on there way soon.

Great pictures, thanks for posting...

How the boat was on the beach for that long is the interesting part.

Saw the recovery on sunday.
Boat removed from the end of Holgate Wildlife Refuge. The sailboat was 45 ft. long and 15 ft. wide, being sailed by 3 Canadians heading South. They tried to get into the inlet in heavy fog with the full moon this week. Boat US got them off with the help of a digging machine that trenched out an area so water could come in.

Shawn, you of all people know there is a process when it comes to salvaging a vessel.

Saturday we attempted to refloat the sailboat with two of our towboats and Sunday we were successful with the help of machinery.

The location of the vessel along with the Gale warnings made this salvage to dangerous to attempt at night.
