The good news is that it looks purely cosmetic from the picture.

Just to be sure have them check inside and verify there is no internal damage.

As far as cost, depending upon the price you may want to check with your insurance company. Being on the trailer, you may find your homeowners, boat or even car insurance companies may pay for it.

I don't know for sure. I pulled it out from the side of my house last Tuesday before we got all that rain. Then on Saturday I was going to remove the shrink warp and noticed the hole. It was parked on the street in front of my house, so it could have been anything. Car door, bicyle, whatever...

I saw Jim today and he said he was dropping off the estamine today. Like I said he does great work. Good luck.

If I had to guess I'd say someone backed into it and their bumper or tailgate or something skidded up the side, gouging along the way, before they realized it. Doesn't look like someone hit it while traveling down the street or the marks would be horizontal.

Not that it makes much difference. Sorry to see this happen to you.

Not unless his neighbor across the street has a blue truck.

wrong question, ask the guy across the street if he ordered a pizza, it was probably someone not from the neighborhood.

Hey everyone, I got an update. Jim stopped by with the estimate. It was more than I hoped, but the price is realistic based upon the work being done. Because it was more than I could afford I had to file a claim with Boat US.

The folks at Boat US are great. I called on Tuesday and sent them a copy of the estimate and photos on Wednesday night.
They confirmed they will pay for the damage, minus the deductible on Thursday afternoon.

A lot of different people recomended Jim to me, so I feel confident I will get a quality repair.

I'm just pi**ed that I am missing flounder season. Sorry, needed to vent a little.

I will let you know when I finally get in.

Glad to hear it's getting fixed.

Look at the bright side, from what I hear you have no cleats to tie the boat too grin. They should be in soon.

Greg, Mark's correct. We don't have cleats yet. We're supposed to have them by the weekend. One of my stern lines crosses over to your slip.... right across the finger pier. The slip is about 2 - 3 feet shorter after the dock repairs. Anyway.. good luck with the gelcoat fix.

Greg- Just caught this pic. Looks like something from the town trash trucks. Make a midnight visit to the yard and check for fiberglass.
