What is a good way to trap the spearing?

I usually buy them. You could seine or cast net for them but on a typical fluke trip for us we go through almost 5 lbs per man for a 6-8 hour trip. Good sized spearing also makes great baits to sweeten a chum slick for tuna and a great bait for chumming up bonito and false albacore.

If you have an drop net, or umbrella net and you can see the spearing near the dock or wherever, you can get a bunch on one drop, that is the easiest way i know of...

Cool...I will give these methods a try.

Hopefully the killies are back this year.

And don't be afraid to try this recipe for spearing, if you don't use it all on your fluke trips.

I'm pretty sure the Sunrise Beach bulkhead is pretty shallow except where the ramp is, but if you need to know for sure I could take a walk over and look.

That's a nice write up in field and stream. It looks like you need to make some more flags.

Hey neighbor. Things are good. Quiet down here, except for the geese.

Zachary is tipping the scales at nearly 18 pounds - a far cry from the 2.8 pounds at birth. Both he and Jacob are doing great - thanks for asking. Say hey to the wife and the boys.

Jacob keeps asking when summer starts as he's looking forward to hanging out with them again. We'll have to get a flag on your boat when you splash it!
