After spending the end of last week keying in on the triggerfish action with friends and family. I finally brought out Nick and his boys Josh and Colton for an early morning run. We started out on bluefish after releasing about 15 or so we headed to a snag to grab some triggerfish. The first drop saw about 12 nice triggers follow up the one Colton had hooked and the guys were prepared so we methodically boated about half a dozen swimming around the boat before they retreated to the bottom. And from there it was drop, reel, bait, repeat. We caught about 35 keeping 25 for the table. We also released 2 tog, 2 blowfish and a mess of porgys and seabass. We called it a day at 9:30.
